About the Program

CARE and WWF launched the Primeiras & Segundas Livelihoods Program in northern Mozambique in 2008. Now in its fifth year, the program is working to conserve and improve the fragile ecosystem of the Primeiras and Segundas archipelago, while strengthening the livelihoods of the communities that depend on the area’s marine and terrestrial resources. The Primeiras & Segundas Program is made possible by generous grants from the Sall Family Foundation and Michael Philipp, with additional support from The Nature Conservancy, and the Millenium Challenge Account.
